The Reds managed to clinch their Champions League return after they held on tough competition from Arsenal to finish fourth in the league standings. Despite this, the Merseyside outfit looked short during the backend of last season with Klopp being forced to name a substitutes’ bench with an average age of 19 during the defeat to Crystal Palace.

CARRAGHER: SPURS COULD HAVE WON THE PREMIER LEAGUE

Mauricio Pochettino and his boys have had an impressive season. They have chased the Blues all season long and they are four points away. With four games left this term, the season could have a dramatic end if Chelsea lose any more game.

Jamie Carragher Doubtful about Liverpool’s Top Four Finish after Palace Defeat

Jamie Carragher has admitted that Liverpool face a big fight in order to finish in the top four after a 2-1 loss against Crystal Palace at Anfield.

It was yet another defeat to a team from the bottom of the table. The result leaves the club just three points above Manchester United, who have two games in hand. Theoretically, United will be able to disperse as Liverpool from the top four with a win in these two matches. Liverpool appeared to have the easiest run in of all the top six teams on paper. However, they have lost a number of points against teams from the bottom end of the table and the result against Crystal Palace was another example of the same.

GERRARD STICKS WITH LIVERPOOL

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard decided to stick with his former club as he analysed which clubs will likely make the top four at the end of the current season.

After the victory of Chelsea over Everton – despite the initial hopes of an Everton victory throwing open the Premier League race –, Jurgen Klopp’s men are level on points with Pep Guardiola’s boys. Manchester United are just a point behind, with Arsenal trailing by 5 points (though with a game in hand) after their loss to Tottenham over the weekend.

There has been plenty of rumours surrounding the future of the 23-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer of 2018. Even though contract negotiations have started between Liverpool and Emre Can, the midfielder has reportedly asked for wages of around £ 100,000 per week. Liverpool have pulled off the negotiations as a result of being uncertain if the player is worth this extravagant figure. Emre Can does not have a problem even if Liverpool do not come in with a new offer.

Jamie Carragher Slams Leicester City Players after Win over Liverpool

Former Liverpool defender and current Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher says that Leicester City players should hang their heads in shame after managing to produce an incredible performance in the 3-1 win over Liverpool during the weekend.

The performance comes just days after Claudio Ranieri was sacked as the Leicester boss. It is understood that Leicester took the decision about sacking the manager even before the 2-1 loss against Sevilla in the Champions League. It was an incredible decision considering that Ranieri led the club to a historic Premier League title less than 12 months ago.

Arsene Wenger Running Out of Excuses for Arsenal’s Poor Form, says Jamie Carragher

Arsene Wenger truly appears to have run out of excuses in the last few weeks.

The defeats against Watford and Chelsea has effectively ended any hopes of winning the league title for yet another season. Meanwhile, the club were hoping to achieve an extended run in the Champions League. Even this was brought to an end by a 5-1 loss against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League. Realistically, the FA Cup remains the only hope for a title this season. This trophy has been able to provide some respite for the manager in the last decade.
