Jamie Carragher believes Tottenham Hotspur deserved the 2nd spot

According to the former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher, Tottenham Hotspur deserved to have finalized on a higher position than Arsenal in the Premier League standings as the team of Mauricio Pochettino had a better season but ultimately had to settle with the 3rd place of the top tier English League standings.


“I don’t think the big thing should be finishing behind Arsenal. If you ask me who had better season, I’d say Spurs. They were challenging for the title. At some stage, you thought they could win the league. With Arsenal that went away in February or March.

Former England international and well known Pundit, Jamie Carragher commended the choice of England manager Roy Hodgson for his final squad selection for the Euro 2016 tournament in France. Pundit Martin Keown also agreed with Carragher.

There are concerns that the manager is going into the tournament where England are among the favourites to win with very young players who have been long-term injured and/or shown no decent form in recent times.

Jimmy Carter has slammed Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini as someone who does not belong in the Premier league.

He also feels that the Belgian international is not worthy of wearing the Manchester United shirt. Fellaini was recently captured elbowing Leicester City defender Robert Huth on television in the recent 1-1 draw between the two teams at Old Trafford. This is not the first such incident involving the 27-year-old. The former Everton midfielder has been regarded as a player ever since he came to the league in 2008. Over the years, he has picked up numerous yellow cards and suspensions as a result of such incidents.

Jamie Carragher definitely has earned his place in the world of football to pass comments and opinions about the teams and the selection of players.

Recently he made a comment on Arsenal team’s mistake in not selecting Luis Suarez. His comment was directed towards Arsene Wenger, the manager of the team. As a fellow experienced manager in the world of football, he is definitely entitled to voice his opinion.

Carragher is known as a legendary player of Liverpool and today he is a hallmark for young players. Jamie Carragher believes the Rafa Benitez is the perfect man to lead Newcastle into a new era, after his appointment was confirmed last week following the dismissal of Steve McClaren from St James’ Park.
