RODGERS LABELLED BEST BRITISH MANAGER

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has been named the best British manager by Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher. The former Reds centre back lauded the achievements of the Foxes boss in recent times especially at his present club.

Jamie Carragher sang the praises of Rodgers on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports after watching his Leicester City team come from behind to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at home. Carragher was still an active footballer at Liverpool whenRodgers was appointed the Reds manager. Jaime Carragher played his last season as a professional footballer under Rodgers at Liverpool.

Carragheris delighted that the Leicester City manager has been able to recover from the disappointments of the past and he's having a fantastic managerial career at the King Power Stadium. The ex-Reds boss came close to ending the league title drought at Liverpool during the 2013/14 campaign.

Rodgers and Liverpool lost the Premier League title during that season in the final three games. Things went downhill from that point for the Northern Irish manager and he was eventually sacked by the Liverpool owners in 2015. He has been able to rebuild his managerial careerat Celtic and Leicester City.

Brendan Rodgers took up the Celtic job as his next managerial task after his dismissal at Liverpool. He won three domestic trophies in two successive seasons at Celtic and was on his way to winning three trophies in his third season in Scottish football before he left to take the Leicester City job midway into the 2018/19 season.

In his first full campaign at Leicester City, the club narrowly missed out on Champions League football. Rodgers has been able to learn from that disappointment and his team is closing in on a place in the Champions League in his second season.
