Kompany Happy With Loss To Brazil

Although Belgium suffered defeat against Argentina in the Round of 8 the other day to get out of the FIFA World Cup, but, the skipper of the side, Vincent Kompany, is fairly happy with how their campaign in Brazil went.

According to Kompany, his team is only going to get stronger from here and in future, would pose bigger challenges to the top teams.

Talking to the reporters after arriving to his motherland, the Manchester City ace said, “The boys did pretty well I would say. Yes, there are some areas to improve, but, the good thing is that this team is young and would only get more experienced and stronger in the times to come.”

In spite of the fact that Belgium couldn’t click as unit in that game against Argentina, Kompany’s individual performance was brilliant. He didn’t have a let off at his centre back position in the entire game. It was because of his presence in the back line that Argentina, even with such dangerous offensive players, couldn’t double the lead.

When asked which team he is now going to back to achieve glory, the defender said, “I would be happy if any Man C player wins it. There are a few still remaining in the competition, four I reckon. My gut feeling says that the final might be between Argentina and Brazil.”

When asked about the facilities in Brazil and how he rates the South American country as host, Kompany said, “They have hosted it as well as any other country would have. To be honest, I hadn’t expected things to be so good over there. But, I was taken by surprise.”

Kompany is considered as one of the best centre-backs in the game at the moment.
