KEYS DISAGREES WITH JAMIE CARRAGHER

Richard Keys says he disagrees with Reds legend Jamie Carragher on his opinion on the Everton summer signings.

Ronald Koeman has signed Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Cuco Martina, Wayne Rooney, Davy Klaassen and Sandro Ramirez. Yet Carragher claimed none of the new players were good enough for the Red part of the Merseyside.

The pundit appreciated the players but when he compared them to the Liverpool lineup, he rated them inferior. Sky Sports presented Keys responded through his blog: “I like a whole lot Everton’s business so far – I know they’re not done yet. I smiled when I saw Jamie Carragher (or whoever it is that operates his Twitter account) trolling Everton fans to this effect ‘quite a day when Everton sign 5 players and not one of them would get in Liverpool’s first team’.

Keys said Pickford would walk into the team ahead of the Reds first choice. He adds that Keane was better than Klopp’s choices as Rooney and Gylfi Sigurdsson when he eventually arrives at Goodison Park.

On the Rooney deal, Keys said he was “a terrific leader” and one determined to prove a point. He added that the 31-year old was not at the club to retire. He added that the Three Lions skipper would return to the England team “at some stagethis season.” Keys then boldly adds that Everton could finish in the top four at the end of the season.

Carragher trolled Everton fans on the exact date of his only European goal for Liverpool. Twelve years back he scored in the 3-1 win in the Champions League qualifier against FBK Kaunas. It was one of four goals that he scored in his Liverpool time, even though some reports name five.
