Jurgen Klopp dismisses talk of a rift between Sadio Mane and Salah

Liverpool
boss Jurgen Klopp has indicated that there is no rift between Sadio Mane and
Mohamed Salah. Mane was understandably furious after he failed to receive the
ball from Salah in a goalscoring position against Burnley and the frustration
was quite evident even after his substitution at the closing stages of the
game.

Speaking
exclusively to TalkSPORT, Klopp said that Mane and Salah have forgotten the
incident and everything is fine between them, he told: “There’s nothing left.
It’s something we left immediately after the game. There was a little talk. It
was Monday when we met first after our international break and everything was
fine. Training was brilliant, the boys are fine with each other, they like each
other! That’s how it is and that’s how it was before. Football is high emotions
and the only problem that we have is that all of our emotions are shown in
public – and I like that.”

The Reds ended the previous campaign on a high by winning the Champions League crown and they have carried over the form this season. So far, the Merseyside outfit have won the opening five games of the new Premier League campaign and that sees them with a 14-match winning streak starting from the backend of last season.

As a
result, Klopp’s side have a handy five-point lead over champions Manchester
City at the top of the table and it remains to be seen whether they can keep up
the pressure by extending the winning run further. Pep Guardiola’s side have
stumbled during the early weeks of the new season and they most recently
suffered a shock 3-2 defeat at the hands of Norwich City.

The Citizens have been hampered defensively with the long-term injury setback for Aymeric Laporte. John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi looked nervous playing together during the recent encounter at Carrow Road.
