CARRAGHER REVEALS BEST SIGNING THIS SEASON

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has picked Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale as the signing of the season till date. Jamie Carraghermentioned England international Ramsdale as the best signing in the Premier League this season while he was on Sky Sports for his usual punditry job last week.

Jamie Carragher has been impressed with Ramsdale whose transfer fee was the subject of intense discussion amongst the Arsenal fans at the start of the season, and his impressive performances in the Arsenal goal have shut down those critics. The Gunners agreed a deal worth an initial fee of £24m for Ramsdaleplus £6m in add-ons. Ramsdale had been relegated with Bournemouth and Sheffield United over the last two seasons before Arsenal snapped him up last summer.

Ramsdale made his Arsenal debut during the Carabao Cup second round clash at West Brom. He kept a clean sheet in his first game for the Gunners as they clinched a spot in the third round thanks to the 6-0 away win over the Baggies with three goals from Gabonese international Pierre-EmerickAubameyang. The other Arsenal scorers during the game were Nicholas Pepe, Bukayo Saka and French substitute Alexandre Lacazette.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta handed Ramsdale his Premier League debut against Norwich City and he also managed to keep a clean sheet in a 1-0 win with Aubameyang getting the lone goal in the second half. The Gunners had lost their first three games without a goal before the Norwich City encounter at the Emirates Stadium.

The introduction of Ramsdale into the Arsenal starting XI coincided with an upturn in form. Arsenal went on a run of eight games without defeat with Ramsdale impressing in the Arsenal goal. He has kept nine clean sheets for the Gunners in the league. Ramsdale has played just 17 times in the Premier League this season.
