CARRAGHER PICKS HAALAND AHEAD OF MBAPPE

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has opted for ErlingHaaland ahead of KylianMbappe if the Reds are to spend big on a striker in the summer. Liverpool have been seriously linked with both Paris Saint Germain (PSG) star Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund hitman Haaland though the club is unlikely to spend a big transfer fee on a new striker this summer as a result of the financial effects of Covid-19. Jamie Carragher is a former Liverpool defender and he talked about Haaland and Mbappe while he was on Sky Sports for Monday Night Football (MNF). According to him, he would like to see his beloved club make a move for ErlingHaaland at the expense of KylianMbappe.

Borussia Dortmund player Mbappe has been linked with a lot of the big clubs on the European football stage. Apart from Liverpool, the Norwegian national team striker is also said to be a target for Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Barcelona. Haaland has a release clause of £68m in his current deal at Borussia Dortmund but it won't be active until next year though reports claimed that the German Bundesliga giants would let the striker leave for a much higher fee this summer. ErlingHaaland has a phenomenal record in the Champions League with 20 goals in 14 games and he's one of the best strikers in world football at a young age. He was at Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg before signing for Borussia Dortmund at the start of last year. Haaland is the main player for his German club at the moment and the Norwegian hitman has been able to fire Dortmund to the Champions League quarterfinals.

For Mbappe, the Frenchman has a little over a year left on his PSG deal and reports claimed that he has already told the French Ligue 1 champions that he wants a new challenge this summer. Real Madrid and Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for the player who won the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia with the French national team squad.
