CARRAGHER AIMING FOR WEMBLEY

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has said that playing in the Carling cup final will be his biggest ambition as of now given that he has never played in the new Wembley as a Liverpool player.

The new Wembley Stadium was constructed a few years ago and a number of finals and other consorts have been held in this fantastic Stadium. However, Jamie Carragher – one of the best England defenders of recent times – has not played at this Stadium. However, the player sees the opportunity to play in the Carling cup final as the perfect opportunity to do so.

Liverpool are very close to achieving this dream for Jamie Carragher, as they have just beaten Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the Carling cup. The 2-0 win now means that Jamie Carragher will be facing just the semi-finals before they reach the finals of the Carling cup.

"I've played at Wembley once or twice for England but I've never done it for Liverpool. I'd love to do that. When we have reached cup finals in the past they have been in Cardiff, so I've never been there with Liverpool. There is still a semi-final to play over two legs and there are some massive sides in there so it is going to be very tough. We'll take the semi-final very seriously," he said.

Liverpool defeated Chelsea twice in the matter of a few days after goals from Martin Kelly and Maxi Rodriguez gave the Merseyside club the opportunity to play in the semifinals. Liverpool had just beaten Chelsea 2-1 in the league a few days ago. Regarding the youth potential at Liverpool, Jamie Carragher said that he is very much happy and looking forward to the youngsters like Martin Kelly become part of the team in a big way.
